The Well

A Christian Inner Healing
and Discipleship Programme

 2008 General Information

Can People With Personal Or Relational Issues Really Change?

Based on the biblical foundations of compassion, integrity and dependence upon God, the  Well programme proclaims the transforming power of Jesus Christ and His commitment to heal those  struggling with all manner of personal or relational brokenness.

 What is The Well?

The Well is an in-depth, Christ-centred healing, and discipleship programme designed for members of  the body of Christ to receive the transforming power of Jesus Christ into broken, sinful or wounded  areas of their lives. The programme is a vital tool for the church as it reaches across denominations  and cultures. It is based on the Living Waters programme established by Desert Stream Ministries over  20 years ago and now in more than 30 countries. It has equipped church leaders around the world to  minister the gospel in all its depth and power.

 Who is The Well for?

The Well is for anyone: including those in a place of “stuckness”, spiritual dryness, apathy or  resignation related to one’s relationships; for those struggling to forgive or receive forgiveness for sins  inflicted upon one’s soul or for un-confessed sins; for those feeling inner emptiness, sense of  worthlessness, rejection, self-hatred, anxiety; for those dealing with questions about healthy sexuality  or issues of gender identity; for those suffering from the consequences of emotional, physical, sexual,  verbal abuse or racism; for those living with addictive, dependent behaviour in such areas as  computer use, drugs, food, alcohol, sports, sex, TV, dating, work, pornography, gambling, etc.; and  for those seeking personal healing from any issues which block healthy intimacy with God.

 How is The Well presented?

The Well programme is taught in a closed group format. All leaders have been trained and a  confidentiality policy is in place to help ensure trust and safety in the group. Each meeting includes:

  • Focusing our attention and praise on God rather than on our problem.
  • Teachings that are in line with the scriptures and a detailed workbook to help move us from brokenness to maturity.
  • Healing prayer in large and small group settings where we invite the Holy Spirit to heal our various wounds. We bring our sins, and those committed against us, to the Lord who is faithful to set us free.

A typical meeting starts with Worship, followed by teaching in a large group on one of the workbook topics, a short break and then a same-sex small group.  We expect you to complete the homework, reading assignments, etc. as a participant in the full series. Our hope is that during the meetings the Lord will do a deeper healing work in you.
